It took me ~6 months to find a replacement for my 77 Cherokee, so I know your pain, I did start fabricating a replacement neck out of copper, but found a NOS neck before I completed the copper neck...

My brother worked at a HI dealer back in the day, parts for them were weird, nothing was model year based, but build sequence based, you had to have serial # to get parts.

A 79+ switch will not work, Jeep changed the wiper setup 78 Down are the same wiper motors as the 67(?) ->72 GM tucks, 79+ use a ford style wiper motor (totally different electrical) , a 72 GM truck...
