Why Install headers? Doesn't the stock manifolds...

Why Install headers? Doesn't the stock manifolds provide enough airflow and bolt up perfectly? Or is it because of 3" pipes?

Yeah I'd install a new MSD distributor with your ICM to make it all compatible. The Chinese ICM are junk. I went through three in less than 2k miles before I upgraded.

But I got it right. With Tony's patient help to make sense of a few things.

If you saved the instructions for your MSD distributor it has a great guide on why and how to phase the distributor. It was easy for me after reading a hundred times or so...

I have mine timed at 16.5. Book says 10. Another book says 12.

I've had them collapse from the braided hose covers before. Not sure how many FSJ owners do that though...
