I'm thinking that they will interchange.I took a plow fame from a 79 and put it on an 86 with no problems it was all the same. My 70 wagoneer is much different from the 86 and will not interchange.

You could always get yourself a used plow frame set up minus the plow and mount it on that. That keeps the stock bumper but just moves it forward about 3-4 inches. It is a good solid mounting system...

I'm pretty sure that if you can find the parts from another JEEP with a 3 speed, probally a early CJ type you can change it over to a top loader using factory parts.
