Polyester isn't the problem. Lotsa direct to metal primers are polyester.

It's when it has a filler that makes it porous like Bondo that it can allow rust. I dunno if "kitty hair" that uses glass...

In your first post you said the hub dimensions were the same. Checking the distance between the shoulders the bearings seat against would have showed the problem.

Seems to me Kaiserjeeps makes them but you would need the hoops and, of course, the holes in the correct places in the vehicle. Idunno if they kept putting them in once they went to the foam.

Get it in place and tight as you dare then start tapping on the puller shaft...

I fink I'd install the hinges on the dash first so as not to have to try to put the mounted hinges through the hole. Every thing snug but adjustable.

And tape around the door and hole so less likely...
