Make a template from a strong piece of wood in the exact model of the brow panel.
Cut some not all to heavy sheet metal...

My 73' J4000 with T-15 only had one spring on the clutch lever on the outside.
There is also a short strong spring inside the bellhousing that keeps the lever on the pivot ball inside the bellhousing!

I did have a look for a spare switch years ago for my 73' j4000 but could not find one.
Luckily I could repair the switch i had and never looked back...
