You will NOT need a new carrier for the D44 if you get a set of gears...

look for cracked/missing vacuum lines.
Mine idled HORRIBLY when I first got it ---- plugged up all the vacuum leaks and it smoothed right out.

Another idea ----- take a piece of PVC pipe that will fit in the axle tube and duct tape it to a shop vac and scrape/vacuum out the dirt.

weird brake problem - FIXED

My brakes are acting strange - anyone know why?

When I touch the brake pedal it kind of draws itself down away from my foot and when I let off it VEEEEERY SLOOOWLY releases the brakes and comes back...

The original post reminds me of the time I traced a misfire to a plug wire arcing to a heater hose ----- never seen that before. A carefully placed zip tie held the wire away from everything.

Suggestion: add an extension to wash mud out of the radiator to prevent overheating ----- something I've always wanted.

Stuck in mud like wet concrete - gas pedal to the floor - engine is really straining hard in 4LO to spin the wheels.
