Thanks Wiley —- yes to all of those questions. New 195 thermostat, original fan shroud, new heavy duty fan clutch, clean radiator, original 6 blade fan.

I probably have about an hour of run time...

Thanks for the input everyone. Yes. 12” at 5° initial —- and I’m running a little warm. I’ll bump it to 10°-12° And set idle to 600 from there. Then check what it is with vac advance.

My rag joint is in decent shape.. it is the ujoint at the top of the shaft that is really loose.

Finally did it. The only pain in the a$$ was the drivers rear bolt. Couldn’t get to it from inside (i figured it was to include to the tail gate). Ended up cutting a piece out of the body...

I had a similar issue, but I still had my spring....

I had a similar issue, but I still had my spring. Mine was just gummed up with 30 yr old grease. Took it out, cleaned it up, re-lubed and it worked again.
