    Oil pressure gauge port question

    piggybacking on this dead thread.

where is the best place to tap in my new oil pressure test gauge on an amc 401? i figure i can pull the oil pressure sensor and hit it there but is there a spot on the top of the engine i can use so i don't have to lay down in the 4 quarts that blew past my filter gasket on Friday?

the sender can be removed from up top...
really no need to lay on the ground.

My stock 74' 258 runs at 20 psi at idle and 40 running down the road......

          Good enough I guess.

What would it hurt to run 80 psi? I didn't think 80 psi was a bad thing necessarily.

No gonna blow out any seals etc but it if the oil is by-passing the filter...not so good.

Not a mod so I'm butting in here...

"Piggybacking" is a hijack. Better to start a new thread with an appropriate title. No reason not to start a new thread. You'll get more responses, and in the future, users can better search for the answers to your question.
