    quadra trac pinion cage issue

I replaced the chain in my 1339 transfer case. I cant seem to get the pinion cage snap ring back on. Doesn't seem to go down far enough to expose the groove for the snap ring to seat. I've tried re-splitting the case, still the same issue. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Finally figured it out. I had to rotate the transfer case to allow gravity to push it out that 1/8 of an inch.

Got the transfer case all put back together. It’s amazing how dirty these cases get inside. I’ll be frequently changing my fluid.

Cleaned up well for a 46 year old case.
