    Greetings from Costa Rica

Hi, new to the board, thanks for accepting me.

    I´m from Jacó, Costa Rica.

    I´ve had a couple of CJ7's (currently own a 1980 resto-moded one), but recently acquired a 1971 Cherokee.

Hopefully, I´ll be able to restor this rig, and build it a little bit, so that I can use it for camping trips with my family.

    The CJ7:

Mud89, as there is no VIN or visible number, I went with what the previous owner told me.

It would be great if someone recognize the paint pattern, in order to now the actual year.

There is a 258 with a 3 speed, T18, and there are no front disc brakes, if this helps.

I will not be using any of this drive train, as I have an Toyota 80 series that will donate suspension and drivetrain.

              Welcome to the madness!

It appears you have a 74. Looks like this emblem is on the outer sides of the rear pillar. 74 is the only year that used that emblem.

The paint scheme is not factory so there is no way to tell by looking at that.

Welcome. That paint scheme isn't anything offered on US built FSJ's. Given your location that was likely built built by IKA...Industries Kaiser Argentina in Buenos Aries.

Sharp eye..It looks indeed like the 74 emblem for the Cherokee "S"
I agree with others, the paint scheme is not factory
Neither VAM in Mexico or IKA in Argentina built Cherokees, maybe the Venezuelian affiliate ? Otherwise it's probably an export model built in Toledo
