There are actually 2 types one clipped on the sun visor & the other is a key fob.
It's actually a winch remote.

I just finished my install. I had a few hiccups ( not the harness fault). serehill responded to my request for help Immediately. Outstanding product and service.

JeepJeepster 05-08-2015 07:40 AM

I also just finished my install after having it lay around since Christmas. Ive already got a spare motor laying around since Im sure were going to burn this one up putting the window up and down!

I also had a few questions and serehill was quick to reply. Very good guy to deal with.

A little worried about the stops in the bottom of the tail gate now. They visually flex when the window maxes out when going down. When rolling it up, the entire mechanism flexes the tail gate. I've not even tried it with the engine running yet!

I would imagine I have over 8hrs in this tailgate. I replaced all the wipes, the lifter bar cushion, and took the old wiring harness out to rebuild it. I did have to extend the wiring that goes into the interior switch around ~6'. I ended up taking it up the firewall and running it through an existing grommet. I didn't want to drill a new hole.

Great feedback & illustration.

I double checked my pattern & found that somehow I just shorted it on the wire. The wire should have been long enough & the pattern shows to be ling enough. I'm going to build a one off & check it for right length. Other than that there are some great pictures here of the rear switch Mod & mounting of the controller. I know we've spoken & it's doing what it's supposed to.

Achilles 05-08-2015 10:38 AM

I also had to extend the das wiring too. Thanks JeepJeepster your pictures answered a question I had shot serehill and email about. I am mounted and done. I just have to find the cover in all my mess and reinstall it on the tailgate. Great product, and don't get your finger in the way when it is going up, you might lose them.

redwoody 05-31-2015 07:20 PM

dash switch failed

Is there a dash switch with the harnesses?. Thank you.

Achilles 05-31-2015 07:25 PM

You can order it with both dash and tailgate switch.

redwoody 05-31-2015 07:32 PM

im assuming prolly not original switch

Achilles 05-31-2015 07:37 PM

No original switch, it has switches that can be easily replaced from auto parts store. Look at the build link in my signature and you can see pictures of the harness an switches. serehill should be in her in short order.

redwoody 06-28-2015 08:58 PM

Hey all the original dash switch operates well with wiring rick provides. Just change terminals to fit switch.

serehill 12-18-2015 09:50 PM

Yes you can

You can use the original dash switch if you want to, It's a simple conversion. The save the front switch for a spare.

Are these upgrades still being made? Hope to finally complete this upgrade in the next couple of months. Things came up and unfortunately this project was put on the back burner :(

Sorry for the delay I built one last weekend. I'm just like the Energizer DUMMY I keep going & going. Pun intended.

memo43 04-28-2016 12:58 PM

I am interested in a set up as well. I just completed a complete rewire with an EZ wiring kit.
So I will be starting from scratch I am interested in a type 2.
I will eventually just remove the rear switch completely and have it run from the front only.

We can hook you up PM sent. I don't have a tailgate control either.

ShagWagon 07-23-2016 02:42 PM

Is there one that can unlock the doors and do the tailgate with the same remote?
