I have been using the SunPro light I bought in 1985 and it hasn't failed me yet!
It was a lot cheaper than Craftsman.

Craftsman sells a "dial-back" timing light for around $70. This allows you to see total advance, and can help diagnose other problems, in addition to tuning. However, if you just want simple timing, a cheapo works fine. I have used Sunpro and Craftsman, both worked for years. I had to change the strobe in the Craftsman once.
