Here's a company, there's about 60 photos of rollbars in trucks.

Cut and weld will be your easiest route I would think.
Be careful with the fumes off the chrome, toxic stuff in every way.
It's not like it's a real roll bar, just a standard aftermarket light bar so I would not worry about it's structure too much.
Just don't get all warm and fuzzy and start thinking it's going to protect you or the cab if you are unfortunate enough to actually roll.

Nice link, although there is some hideous looking stuff too.
I didn't even like the JTruck on page 5.
I think if you came out with something simple like #53 it would look pretty good.

I can't think of any reason it would be more compicated than that.

Build a 3/4" plywood storage box under it, bedliner it, and bolt that to the top, maybe use some old diamond plate for the lid so it doesnt rock around.
Personally I think it's all wrong for the gladiator but 1: you can't beat free, and 2: my opinion is like everyone elses; an opinion :D
There are cheap light bars out there all day long that clamp onto your rain gutters and look pretty good.

This might sound kind of hack-ish, but, since it's just going to hold lights, you could find some tube that just fits over (or under) the diameter of the chrome tube and put a couple long bolts though the overlap section, using the larger/smaller tube like a sleeve. To protect agains sheering the bolts, you could get fancy and sleeve those holes too. It would be a bunch of drilling but would avoid welding.

i thought about that. thats how the main bar on my wake board tower goes together, but passed on the idea.

Well.. free is free? But as i constantly learn myself the hard way (what the def. of insanity again!?! ) You may just come out ahead going to harbor frieght and buying thier hydrolic bender (usually less than 100bucks) and build your own. Your gonna have to get tubing to fill in wherever you cut it anyway, right? Just my thought. And if your REally cheap and you admit (yea, People that are smart!!) that it won't be structural AT ALL.. try building one out of gas pipe?? Fairly cheap new, bends well, wont save your life but will hold lights well enough! Maybe build one out of pipe as a mock up then when you get the design you like, buy some good steel and do it right?? Good luck!!
