Ugggg.... I was going to put cruise on me new J20.

Anyone ever stripped a wag with cruise or installed cruise?

Questions:

1. Is wiring in the column for cruise there.....if Jeep didn't come with it?

2. Do U have to pull dash to swap speedo cables to tach adaptor?

3. IF have to pull dash what all needs to come off for access?

4. I see in parts book looks like yet another vacuum doohickey on brake pedal.

Any ideas or thought appreciated.

I just stripped a '91 with cruise.

1. I am not sure probably not, you will have to run the wires down the column from the new stalk.

2. No, you just need to disconnect the cable from the speedo and pull it through the firewall and push the new shorter one back through.

3. See #2

4. Vacuum shut off switch below the brake light switch there should be a hole for it.

1. Know a column expert, probably be easier to work on with column & bench seat removed.
(funny a XJ multi-function stalk & A/C Delco GM cross references so that was easy finding NOS)

2. can you get to back of Speedo head to remove cable without taking dash apart?

you need to run the cruise stalk wires down the column. the main harness should have the wiring in it.

yes,you can reach under and remove the speedo cable.

shouldn't be too tough.

Thanks good to know that I don't have to take dash all apart.

With seat & column out should be easyier.....

Columns are easy to work on you just need a puller for the wheel a lock plate compressor for the lock plate, a pair of small dental type of picks really helps with the snap/lock ring above the plate, snap ring pliers and a screw driver to get to the turn signal stalk.

I also find it easier and faster to work from the drivers seat.
