Man this is nice being able to ask everyone for their advice!!
I'm looking for a beefier (gear?) X-case, than my 229, what are some fairley easy swaps for a AMC 360/TF727 combo. I'd like to get the most "bang for my buck", but I don't mind paying for quality.

Thanks,
Andy

the 208 is a direct replacement, youll just need a 6 inch longer rear drivehaft.it is the simplest, and prolly most cost affective repalcement.as chain drive xfers go,it is a resanbly strong unit that youll likely not ever have trouble with if you get a good one in the first place, and maintain it.
if you want gear drive, the d300 is a bolt on,but youll need to also swap the front axle to one with a passenger side diff, and youll have front drivehaft clearnace prollems that can be fixed with a minimum of 4 inces of suspension lift,or possibly clocking the xfer alittle clockwise and tilting the engine.that last part is specualtion, ive never tried repositioning the d300 on the 727 ,when i discovered i didnt have the room,i swapped my 727 for a 904.
let us know if you need any more specifics. also see the thread "what do you think?"
