I found (2) AMC th-400 transmissions (1) cost $395 delivered with 30-day warranty, (1) is $495 delivered with 3 month warranty. Also, I have an AMC th-400 with a busted casing that may or may not be able to be welded back together and needs rebuilding. Any suggestions which is the better option????? I'm taking all of the help I can get. Transmissions are from D&D in AL, ever heard of em?

only suggestion is much like everything else in life you get what you pay for

barring abuse there is no reason a properly rebuilt transmission should not last as long as the original keyword being - properly - can't say that I've seen a flat rate tech ever take apart a valve body and clean it out

just don't forget to flush your cooler and change your torque convertor - both act as very good debris traps, good luck

btw, neither transmission is rebuilt, they are both used. I'm thinking I should see if my bellhousing weld can happen, and rebuild that one. Who knows...

hmmm...broken case usually means broken stuff inside...think I'd buy the cheap one, a rebuild kit and Mikey's rebuild video
