I called the bank today to learn about possibly consolidating some debt and was asked if I owned my vehicle that I could put up as collateral on such a loan. I laughed and said yes mam I own my vehicle outright but I don't think it will be useful. She convinced me to tell her anyhow and so I said "88 GW with 180k on the truck and about 30k on a engine rebuild" After a second she came back and said that she had put it in her system and it had come back and told her the value of the vehicle was "ninety-two hundred" I asked her "mam are you sure you heard me right the truck is an 88' Jeep Grand Wagoneer, I love it to death but even I wouldnt pay that much for one." She assured me that this was the correct amount and so I didn't press the issue any further... Anyone else had this experience before? There is no way she put that in the system right is there?

It must have been the Barrett Jackson system.

they over inflate vehicles to get you approved. I did roughly the same thing only my credit union doesnt require an appraisal they say what is it worth? you say what ever you think its worth and they take it at face value, i imagine within reason

Wow!! Which bank did you use??
I would love to do the same thing with my bikes. I've like 60+ bikes for sale. I would value them at like $6K.
