Matt & Cat.......
My first cousin just snagged a very pretty & totally hip wife.
Anyway both of them are quiting their jobs, selling all belongings & getting married in April, then traveling around the outback for 8 months.
Will be the adventure of a lifetime, and what better time than before you have kids.
He helps me work on my FSJ and wants to buy a J-Truck when he gets back with slide in camper. :fsj:
Anyway he'd like to go wheeling, camping in a FSJ in the great brush country.
I've seen posts from folks here that live in Australia so thought I'd post up for him.

Good thing he's not taking an FSJ to the Outback! There's no such thing as roadside assistance!!!
I hope they have fun! What an adventure!

my neighbors are "grey nomads" & travel our wide brown land annually & for long expeditions at each time too - i also know a few nice spots in the outback.
so, are your rello's looking for an itinerary or just some friendly advice? a heads up or two?
just let me know!
Cool. I have/had plans to move to New Zealand and then possibly Australia and get 1 year work visas and just have a blast.

Australia is a great place. The people are really nice to Americans from my experience and its a more relaxed lifestyle out there. I always thought I'd like to live there.

They want to do some "extended remote camping", and will need a guide.
Is there any part of Australia that has mountains?

no, we dont have mountains as you know them.
i have an australian 4 wheel drive guidebook they could borrow, presuming they're travelling through sydney & able to pick it up, if they're sort of organising things on the fly.
or, there's also some 4 wheel drive forums they could visit & a lot of folks would be happy to help out - but with so much input, that could get overwhelming.
when is this trip happening anyway? do they want to stick to coastal roads & do an entire loop of the country or go inland & cross the deserts? some of the landscape in inaccessible during wet seasons, desert roads closed off during summer etc etc.
lets keep talking - here's a taste
