Well, now that Crane Cams is closed, what do we do? Does anyone know who else they made cams for? Summit? Others? Should I go buy up every Crane Cam I can get my hands on, jump off a cliff, or not worry about it?

There are still several cam manufacturers out there that will support AMC engines.

Crane was the only cam company that made AMC roller cams. Other companies ground roller cams, but used Crane blanks, Crane was the only one to make the roller blanks.

I heard today that Crane plans to re-open after they reorganize. Hope it's true.

when I talked to their new management guys a month or three back, they mentioned that they were going to reorganize and make some major changes. As I recall, they were all foreign folks, and the non-foreigners I knew there were no longer with them. Not sure what all went down, but sounds not so great. I now only deal with Comp.

I bought and Engle cam for the engine I'm building right now. Not sure if they do roller cams. They were easy to deal with - answered my novice questions. I went on the recommendations of some other folks and desktop dyno results. At this point all I can do is cross my fingers!

Check with Reed cams, they know AMC from the TransAM days and still build 'em.
