hi guys, i'm new to the forum here and new to fsj's, had a couple of wranglers before. the new addition for me is a one owner 1976 j10 with a 360 4 barrel 4speed with granny low and locking hubs. i got a real good deal on a good strong running truck. i buy and sell at least a dozen or so cars a year, most people don't have any automotive know how here.i fix i sell. this one however has my attention and think it may become a permenent part of the family. it does have the prestolite dizzy and icm and its starting to act up. there are also the air pump and things that are removed and rotting vacuum lines. but it only has 96,000 miles on it and it came with owners manual and a butt load of documents. i look forward to any input and ideas from fellow members. thanks for a great site.

thanks, mattmopar440. i'm pretty sure thats what i'm doing. i am just reading EVERYONES!!!! thread about it (pros and cons) would really like some input from people who have changed their prestolites out and i think this is the best site to do just that. only thing in the hei that bothers me is the wiring, i hear its simple but isn't that what they always say.thanks everyone for encouragement, BREWTUS will be even more thankful when he is driven the way he is suppose to.

thanks again matt, i chickened out today... well i say that. i cranked it up today and after 10 minutes it didn't die , so i let it run ...30 minutes later still running. drove it around in my neighborhood just in case. it ran fine except for needing a tune up, carb adjustment ,plugs, plug wires, cap , rotor. all things i was going to wait on since i was doing the conversion.anywho... shut it off cranked right back up, took the a-team van to the parts store for a seat cover and rubber mat for the floor. got back and brewtus didn't want to crank, spun over and over. finally i pulled a plug to check for spark, and there was (weakest spark i've ever seen?) put it back in cursed and of course it fired up... ran 10 minutes and died. starts right back up though. guess i will be doing this conversion as i can't have it being so unreliable if i am going to keep it. i really wish there was a couple pictures of done conversions.

Hello from Arkansas,

I am fairly new here also got the AMC fever and the Grand Wagoneer chills along with the money cough and love every minute of it. I realized this is the best place to be for info and help. The members are outstanding here. Best of luck with you project.
