Was the cardboard stuff on the roof of my 88 GW worth anything?
I seem to recall seeing someone ask about it... The actual foam was falling out and the fabric stuff was falling off but the cardboard itself was in perfect shape... I am wondering because I don't mind noisy vehicals but I DO mind foam dust falling on me all the time so I ripped it off and threw it away (ceiling is metal now... Its a bit cold but no foam dust falls on me so its worth it. So... Should I start kicking myself now?

You did what?!?   You just threw away the most valuable part of your jeep! Are you :dancingbanana: ?
Just kidding, don't sweat it I don't have one either. I don't think its worth anything with the foam and material falling off, unless of course you needed a cardboard box to mail something in.

If the cardboard didn't get wet or broken it can be refurbished.
My current headliner came from the wrecking yard. Someone had taken off the fabric, sprayed the cardboard with rattlecan contact glue and attached vinyl fabric to it.
I used the same spray glue to attach 1" thick rag batting to the roof for insulation, reglued the vinyl and installed the headliner. Works pretty good. Installed extra dome lights ( they keep it from sagging too much ) and covered the seam with an aluminum extrusion screwed to the roof brace. Only problem is the dome lenses are aftermarket, keep falling out. I'll find something nicer with glass lenses. Also, the glue doesn't work well in cold weather.

I pulled mine down and cleaned the foam stuff off. I then flipped in over and rebent the corners. I recovered it with new headliner material from a local upholstery shop. While it was out, I added extra insulation between the carbboard and the roof. Looks like new
