I am tearing out my carpet kit and dynomat they are more like mushroom farms then interior accessories.
I am redoing the whole interior inner fenders, roof and floor with "Grace" Water & Ice. (its cheap and i stock it at work so it seems like a good candidate) i am laying it on double thick so the final thickness is .80 mil i may even do triple thick in the rear fenders, in the front doors and on the floor.
The thought is that the old dyno mat glued to the bottom of my carpet is collecting moisture when ever i get in with wet shoes, or when the tailgate seeps a little or the door seals seep a little and then it holds it same thing with the carpet, its holding moisture too. moisture is the issue especially when i go duck hunting wet waders ect the carpet never seems to dry out.
so i am looking at the BJ's vinal carpet kit laid over the top of the adhesive insulation i am installing inside the chief. Anyone see a problem with going back to the vinal kit for the florrs? will it amplify the diesel engine noise vs the carpet inside the rig? Do you think its going to increase my moisture problem by trapping moisture between it and the floor?
would i better off using the ice and water because it is self adhesive on the floor and then just laying a new carpet kit over it without the dyno mat. I think the dyno mat is the major culprit because it is glued on in a way that creates a vapor barrier between it and the carpet trapping the moisture after it absorbs it
