Hey, welcome from Watertown. I know the south shore a bit but honestly, I've never wheeled the J truck I have now. I'd like to; just not in any clubs or putting a lot of time into the Jeep right now. Don't get me wrong - the rig runs great and I drive it on weekends - just no wheeling so far.

I checked out your pics - I don't know that area - that's not Martha's Vineyard, is it? Duxbury? I used to go on the beach on the vineyard with an '82 Wag I had.

I'm from the south shore and built my truck for wheeling. It hasn't been out yet this season but it's almost ready.

Those pics are from Duxbury Beach, no place has more wagoneers than the vinyard and nantucket combined, 'cept maybe the hamptons.

I live in Medford and have been driving these things for over 10 years . Didn't realize our area was well represented with so many loyal owners . Sounds like a Sunday morning "dust off" is in order ! Any thoughts on that ?
P.S. A friend from the south shore told me these GW's were always referred to as the Duxbury Cadillacs

Sounds like a plan! As for the "De-luxbury Cadillac," yeah, thats their moniker around here, but being from MarshVegas, im loath to call my waggy such a degrading name. (note to duxbury fsj owners: im kidding, relax you rich B*astards)
silly massholes!! hehe :fsj:

i'm just a state north of ya. There are a few guys in NE that wheel FSJs but not too many. I should (maybe more like hopefully) have mine done by the end of spring.

Marshvegas eh? How much are the Duxbury Beach stickers going for these days? I dropped out a while ago, not so much over the price but because the beach was closed in the winter as soon as a few slats in the snow fence were damged.

Last i checked, $250 for "non-Duxbury" residents. Never stops me though, just drive on by the guard station like you own the place and nobody bats an eye...most of the time anyway. :)

And i should have said hello to all the NE fsj wheelers, i spend alot of time just north of the Mass border in NH, and occasionally VT and ME. Some of the most scenic trails in the country up there!

I am in Norfolk Ma. I recognized Duxbury beach from your pictures. I tried to drive past the guards with my Commander this past summer but they turned me around pretty quick. I don't wheel with my J-10 but It would be nice to see some other fsjeepers from the area.

I know it's not really considered part of the state, but out here in Western Mass our rigs are few and far between.
I only just saw one on a local road the other day for the first time in about 3 years.
Hopefully I'll have mine on the road this year. If I do, Labor Day it's a trip to Race Point!
bumping a thread from a few months ago...another local fsj'er.
slowly progressing with my J20 build/resto. maybe we can have a fsj meet soon?
how about that Jeep store on rt 138 in Canton? :D:fsj:

The "Mass Cruisers" host a show every other Thursday at the Bass Pro Shop in Foxborough. Its open to everyone. I am planning to bring my truck there on July 30th. Any one else interested in meeting there?

Wow, lots of "locals." I think a classic car cruise or show would be ideal for meeting up. Foxborough is a hike at 9mpg but doable, canton also sounds doable. Or anywhere else for that matter.

Hey, Western MA is more like the rest of the country than here on the coast, but its still MA. oh, btw, thats not an dig at WE-MA, its actually a compliment.

You must be the other GW i see around town all the time. I'm smiling as we're well represented. Did i by chance see you on the side of Rt. 3 a few weeks ago? didnt realize it was a GW till i saw the grill in the rear view after i went by. I know it worked out because ive seen you around town in your (im gussing here) 88' since then!
I've seen the same two GW's around Braintree/Quincy/Hingham/Weymouth in the past few months.
One is white w/wood, and the other is the dark blue w/wood. Perhaps my mind is playing tricks on me but at one point thought I saw an all white Wagoneer as well on rt 3A.
Also, one of Cmelo's buddy's Dad just bought a late 80's tan one...but he's most likely going to be selling it soon as they have too many projects.
Perhaps we should really try to plan a meet in the next few months.

Hi guys - I live in Cohasset and picked up a GW several months ago. I'm all for a meet. Nantasket Beach in Hull could be a good spot?? I'm happy to be the organizer if there is interest. So, you guys interested?

It seems that there is a lot of interest in getting together .
Usually over planning is the downfall IMO. Not everyone is able to agree on a date and time and soon it all goes away .
Let me throw one idea into the arena .
July 11 is the best and largest car show/ swap meet in the area . It is held on the the grounds of the incredible Endicott Estate in Dedham for those not familiar .
The show starts at 6 AM and goes all day . If someone can suggest a nearby mall or lot , it may be a nice way to conclude a day of auto related fun . Maybe two or three o'clock , meet a few new friends , and toss some ideas around for a more formal get together in the fall .
O.K. Seemer , balls in your park .

I would like to get together with all the other local FSJers, and the show in Dedham is usually very good. Unfortunately I will be in New Mexico that day.

I am still interested, just not available that day. The Mass Cruisers have a cruise in every other Thursday night at the Bass Pro Shop by Foxboro Stadium. That may be a good place to meet. Any interest?

Let's get the list of interested parties first and then agree date and location.
I'm interested and know of a few other local guys that probably would be...but my truck is up in NH getting fixed up for an unknown period of time. I have other Jeeps, but nothing as cool as a SJ.
But seriously, if we can't organize enough to get to an actual car show, people are more than welcome to come and have a Saturday or Sunday meet at my shop in Canton right by the Blue Hills...plenty of parking.
I'm game for anywhere, just hopefully will have my j20 back by the time we actually all meet up.

Side 2, track 1! Scarlet Begonias is a great tune - I think my wife's favorite Dead tune.
I took the name in memory of my first sailboat which was appropriately named 'Marshotel.' Alot of zaney stuff going on back then. Now I'm out of the boating game until the kids get a little bigger -sooooo, Im building up my stock of Jeeps!

Hey guys... looks like we have a decent NE group building here. I am in Acton, MA and know a few local guys here. I picked up a J10 about 8 months ago and have been having fun with it. If there are plans to meet up keep me on the loop as I would love to join if I can.

Anyone of you guys close to me know where I can pick up a set of 15" wagon wheels that will fit the GW? Also looking for chrome trim rings. Not sure if its the case for all GW's but my 87 has import hubs which are the same size as Toyota rims (atleast thats what Townfair Tire has told me).
thanks!

Too bad, would be fun to get together and check out each others jeeps.
Any interest in meeting on Sunday AM ?
I'd definitely be down but it might be too last minute. There is an Irish Festival going on 1.5 miles down the road all weekend so you could go from one fun thing to the other. :D
Cmelo's Honcho is up and running (albeit needing new front leaf springs - which are in stock!) so I bet he'd be down.
I bought new bedsides for my truck from ZMJeeps so mine will be out a little longer now having those replaced and the truck painted.

Here's how you revive a dead thread:
Hey guys - I've been out of the loop having had two baby girls in the past 21 months. Now that the youngest is roughly 9 mos old I'm back to working on the jeep.
We should find a date in the future - late spring/early summer and stick with it. I know it'll be a haul for me, but if we choose somewhere centralized for most members it should alleviate the gas crunch. Maybe somewhere in the Framingham/Fitchburg area? Keep it within reason of the major highways so optimal fuel efficiency can be attained for the majority of the trip.
What do you guys think?
