Anyone have any pics of waggy/cher that has shortened the back end? Would like to see any pics you may have. I would like to see some that still had room for rear passengers.
Thanks in advance.

Look up pics of Crom, Bigun's rig and Tad's rig. I chopped the top on my '79 Cherokee but no bobbed rear.
Can you post pics of your topless jeep?
Here is one I'm working on...

Still working on mine.. Hope to have it boxed in over Spring Break in 2 weeks. It's chopped behind the rear bench seat, and I'm putting the back of a J-truck cab on to box it in.

Crom is not a chop top he is a body swap. We have discussed turning a Cherokee into a club cab pick up

I used to wheel with this guy but I think the rig finally met it's demise and ended up as a full tube chassis

Did lightening it that way improve its wheelability that much? I'm thinking of trimming-down my Cherokee to lose some mass, but I want to make sure the gains are worth it.

It was worth it for me, much more enjoyable on the trail and safer. My rig always felt like it was going to tip over when it was full body. Now I don't worry about it unless I am going down an obstacle and a rear tire lifts.
Winter is a little chilly but I have no regrets, it weighs in at < 5k lbs.

I am finishing my 13" BoB on my 91.
Just got it back from the tranny shop last week and am currently working on the rear bumpers.
I haven't got the wood tape on it yet. I did see a chevy wagon at the swap meet in Wichita in Feb that had wood Flames on it!! Not sure I'll do that to mine, but maybe wood flames on the HOOD!!
Anyways, here are the pics of my 91:

Sure about that?
Look at the grill slats (no curve for the headlights) and the hood ornament just above the tube (which is hiding the point).
As far as that rear hatch - Where do I get myself one of them!

Hey,
There are more pics at Photobucket.com in my tinman93 album.
I fabbed the gate from 1" aluminum tubing, tigged it up, added hinges and plexiglas. I used gas struts for support.
I used an electric door lock actuator with some linkage to operate the latches mounted on the hatch. They are hood latches from an RV. Pins were fabbed and install on the lower gate. The old electric window control switch on the gate is wired into the switch. It also works from the dash.
I used trunk weather strip around the opening.
The hinges are simple gate hinges bolted throught the roof into a support beam installed on the inside.
The best part is how light the lower gate is. And how easy it is to access my gear in the back.
I did play around with using a camper shell hatch but had the aluminum and access to a tig, so I fabbed up my on from scratch. The shell hatch is a good idea. Lots of different styles availabe, hinges, latches etc.

Could you provide a link to the photobucket pics. I tried to do a search on photobucket for the Timan93 folder and it came up with nothing.
Thank You.

I saved the frame from around the back glass and moved it forward to square off the back end. Rear seat was relocated about 2 " further forward, worked out very well. I'll see if I can dig you up some more pics. If you do a search look for posts by Stolen76, I think I put more of a write up on the chop on the board. (email changed and lost my password, so I got a new ID)
