I have the diagram of hoses for the liguid check valve for my truck. Someone here told me the 3rd line goes up to the engine comp. and the charcole canister. What can I do with that line if I have no canister? Right now, it's just open under the hood. The check valve looks like a carb. float inside, does gas actually go in there? Again, mine is totally unused. Would like to get at least it hooked up again. Does anyone have a pic og the charcole canister? Thanx, Jim

Jim, the 76 canister has 3 nipples and a filter on it. The one normally going to the carb float bowl on the 258's is plugged on the V8. One nipple is for the hose from the liq check valve and the other plugs into the snout on the air cleaner.
No there shouldn't be any raw fuel going into the check valve. The lines from the tank are just vent lines. The check valve is also known and prolly more correctlly so as a roll-over-valve. In case of a crash fuel won't pour out the tanks vent lines into the eng bay.

W/o a canister I would just plug that nipple on the valve and run a vented cas cap. I'd rather have the fumes vented to atmosphere at the filler pipe than going into the eng bay.
