Tearful Goodbye to the Blue Bomber

I started looking for an FSJ 3 years ago when my wife became pregnant and I realized the Wrangler wouldn't cut it. A few weeks shy of her due date, we lost our first daughter to complications. A couple months passed and I decided we should still have a Waggy for the children yet to come. I bought the Blue Bomber in Feb. '07 and have since sunk a lot of time, love and $ into it. It served me very well only leaving me stranded once when a Rad Hose blew. During this time it was used to haul our second daughter and our yellow lab wherever I went. With rocker panels melting, and more TLC needed I decided it was time to sell. We have baby #2 on the way and I just need something more solid. I sold it today to two brothers, they are teenagers and they will be using it for transpo to and from a mechanics college in Northern Ohio. They LOVE the thing and are excited to do all the things to it that I just don't have time for right now. Before turning it over tomorrow, I changed the oil, air filter, filled it up, and washed it, because well, these seem like two pretty darn good kids and when they open their garage in a few years, I expect they will be very fair to their customers.

I hope it serves them as well as it did me. And yeah, my eyes teared up putting the armor all on the tires for the final time...For a lot of reasons..
