Dont know if any of you have had this problem but every time I put one in snap it blows.. No reverse lights and no BU lights......
Its a 82 Cherokee Chief.. If you have any advise I sure could use it....

If it pops as soon as you plug it in, it will likely be in the seat belt circut. Check the wires under your seats to see if the wires got pinched by the seat brackets.

I don't have BU lights, either, and I had to hardwire my licenseplate light into my headlights...

Your short to ground is going to be between the fuse and the switched side of the circut. If it was on the component side then the fuse would only blow when the component was turned on(like gear shifter in reverse for the BU lights). You need a good wiring diagram to help track it down. The diagram I have is too small to be legible or else I could be of more help. If you give up, let me know if you want me to look at it and I'll give you directions to our shop in Mesquite.

oh yea, judging by what you said earlier about it being ground by the fuse.. Inoticed that when the circuit did work the buzzer sounded like caca.......I found it kinda funny that the system worked because I started the car with new fuse with the seat belt locked.

Don't know if you found the problem yet, but mine did the same thing. There is a wire on the same circuit that terminates near the carb. It went to a solenoid or something that the PO removed and left the wire hanging. It took me almost forever using a schematic to find it.
Good luck.
