Fuel sending unit wire...

Anyone happen to know the color of the sending unit wire at the tank for a 73 j truck? My tank is gone, and the p.o put a nice rear mounted on in the back, but never tire the new sending unit up tot eh old wire, I did find a pink wire that came out of the underbody harness about where the old tank would have been.

Not sure about your year, but my '80 J20 fuel level wire is pink.

To test it, first check it for voltage. The fuel sender wire should not have any, its only for resistance. If no voltage, then ground it - if its the fuel sending wire, the fuel gage should read full.
