OK, I have been thinking and want to replace my qt t-case and will need to rebuild my th400 tranny. I just found someone in my town selling a brand new th350, used rebuilt dana20 t-case, advanced adapter for the two and new torque converter. I was wondering if the th350 and dana 20 was a good combo. the selling price would be somewhere around $800. I will be putting in a pumped chevy 383 which might help in figuring out if this is a good deal.
Thanks,
Mike

Seems to me that a TH350 in a FSj is too little tranny, unless you are talking about the Wrangler. I know guys do it, but with big tires off road, etc etc I personally would feel better with a 400. Besides, you could get your TH400 redone for much less than the 800 bucks. Why not look for a TH400 D20 combo, and get IT rebuilt?

change your trans case to a chevy when you rebuild it and swap the out put shaft to a chevy short shaft find a dana 20 and a new novak adapter and its still cheaper than buying the th350 and you wont have to get new drive shafts if you keep the th400 and it will handle 2 times the power of the th400........... easy

Thanks for the help guys. I think I will stick with the th400 and maybe go with an NP205, dana 20, or dana 300. Will an Np305 bolt right up to the amc th400?
Thanks,
Mike
