View Full Version : Poly motor mounts?

I've just discovered that BOTH of my motor mounts are toast- ripped all the way. I have heard talk of using poly mounts as the way to go? Whats the forums opinion? and where's a good place to get them?

Thanks,

I think I got mine from summit but I'm not 100% sure on that. I love mine. It's nice throttling up a hill not having to worry that the mounts are going to break lose. Vibration from the motor is a little more than normal but this I can live with.

I stick with stock rubber ones.....with sleds as old as ours the less vibration the better.....imagine all those electrical connections everywhere getting constantly vibrated....

the only time I use poly anything is on purpose-built race vehicles..

www.daystarproducts.com (http://www.daystarproducts.com) carries them... a little pricey though.... I like the poly mounts...don't have them yet but I do have the poly tranny mount... made a world of difference...

See your thread on "noise" for the poly transmount source. I don't recall if they have motor mounts for GWs though...

The V8 mounts for the small jeeps from 304's to 401's are the same mounts for our FSJ's

Thanks everyone for the great info. Not sure what direction I'm headed yet, I guess I'm kinda leaning towards the poly mounts.

Bart,

When I added my poly trans mount, I already had a HD shift kit installed in my TH400... not that you could notice. Well...after installing the poly mount, the shift was a more positive transition in that the weak rubber would let the tranny torque itself out thru the mount during a shift point. The poly mount didn't let that happen and you could feel a difference. Hope that explains it well enuf....
