My wife and I needed a second 4x4 for the winter. My dad bought another Waggy to go with his '87 (formerly mine). He bought this '88 initially for parts but it was in too good shape to part it. We visited our family and brought it back. Of course, I've been doing nothing but fixing it since then:

water pump
ignition/wiring problems
fixing vacuum lines
power steering pump
underhood "simplifying"

More to go. Now it looks like the Exploder is going to be "transformed" soon--1 ton axles! :drivin: So, I'll be driving this Jeep, and fixing it.

Anyway, here's a few pics:

Dang, looks clean! I can see why you did not part it out. Silver Wags look classy...

Glad you got it and are planning on keeping it on the road.

I wanna see the exploder on tons just for the novelty value!

Nice wag BTW... I like silver but get a little lift on it... They look too low at stock height with no trimming and the body is too nice to trim on this one.

Thanks for all the compliments, everyone. It is a 50-footer, though. The clearcoat is non-existent on the hood and there is some minor rust and paint bubbling in a few places. It needs some work on all the windows and the stereo replaced.

duncanstives,

I'm not kidding about the SAS on my Exploder:

HP Dana 60 front and Ford 10.25" rear from an '87 F-350. :sawzall:

Now I need to get them OUT of the Explorer and UNDER it!

you sure that's a ten and a quarter? that and a dana 70 hd were both offered that year... some of the sterling axles were c-clip axles... don't remember which ones...
