Well,
I am headed to San Antonio to look at a Jeep. Finally after about 5 years of dreaming, wishing, scheming, and plotting I will hopefully be a proud G-Dub owner. I think the price is right if this rig runs as well as the owner says. I am really hoping that this will work out. I would hate to drive two and a half hour drive for nothing. Wish me luck, hopefully by this time tomorrow, I will have a never ending project on my hands. BTW, here is a picture from the add.

Good luck, it looks good in that picture. 2 1/2 hours isn't much compared to some of the stories you'll read on here. Have a safe trip all the same.

You asked, so "Good luck!"

Take a second person with you. If it's the one you want, buy it and drive home. Also the second person can be the parts vehicle when, uh, IF it breaks down on the way home.

Take a second person driving a tow vehicle and trailer with you. If it's the one you want, buy it and attempt to drive it home.

Fixed again.

This is what I'm doing on Sunday when I pick up the '79 Cherokee Chief. :)

Appreceate all the support. Thats why I love the group. I looked at a Jeep on Thurs that had quite a bit of surface rust, the a/c wasn't working, no rear glass at all, the driver door handle was stripped off. The guy wanted 5 g's for it. I just couldn't do it for that price. this guy wants half that price, and it sounds like a much better deal from talking to him. Like I said, I have wanted one of these from the first time David Stacey aired the bargin beater on Trucks. I still remember River Beast across the street from me and thinking, that is the jeep for me. This is close enough, and when I am done, hopefully it will be a respectible off road capible beast. Soon I will have a lot more questions, hopefully some good pictures, and even some good contributions for the group.

P.S. I have had a few drinks, so as the night goes on, the post will be more elaberate.

Good Luck!

It's a good idea to take someone with you, so you do not get caught up in the moment and buy something you shouldn't or pay to much.
Don't ask me how I know.
