Ok guys..I "tested" my cruise tonight by tying a string to the diaphragm and seeing if it pulled when I hit resume or accelerate. It does. Great!

But my problem is that either the po removed,(or it broke) the "linkage" that connects from the diaphram to the actual cable that connects to the carb. My best guess is that it is actually supposed to be two cables that rap around a winch/spring looking thing with wires on it. All this is under the plastic cover that the cable screws into on the diaphram assy'.

Can someone look at their diaphragm, or maybe even one that isn't on a jeep, and tell me how this thing connects to the cable? It is literally just 3 screws to get to it (1 that holds the Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley'y, 2 that hold the cabel on). A pic would be GREAT!!

Thank you!

Joe

I have just pulled this off an 89 Grand Wagoneer. The cable comeing out of the servo has a little bead on the end of it, as the cable from the carb has. These two cables hook up with what I call a lamp chain connector. I am working on a Picture now. ;)

Ok I hope this Picture is clear enough. If both your cables have the little bead on the end then all you need is this connector. If ya need it email me your address and I will send it to you, early Christmas Gift.

Great--we're close! I actually need to see the end that is on the Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley'y--it is the cable (I guess)that the cable in your pic attaches to.

well the cable from the servo is the same (little smaller in diameter) but has the little bead in the end it slips into the conector I have pictured, the same way the cable in the picture is hooked to it now. If your servo cable has no bead on the end of it, then it is broke.

The plastic cover that the cable in your pic is bolted to is removable (when you take out those two screws that hold teh cable on.) Can you take a pic of the cable that actually attaches to the diaphragm (under the cover)?

Thanks-
Joe

I tried to get the picture but there is no way to take one so it will show anything in detail. It is pretty much as you described above as to how it all hooks up.

OK. How long is the cable that comes out of the servo unit?
