I know most of you have been following this for the past few days, but I know have every thing back together and I now have this problem...

With the positive wire off the coil I have 12 volts to it. When I plug it to the coil the positive side drops to 6 volts...

When I tried to crank it to after working on the wiring to the coil, it ran for about 5 seconds then quit. I tested to spark coming from the coil and I get nothing. When I first start it up I have 2 weak sparks then stops. When I turn it off I can hear a small fire when the key is switched to the run positon..

So what is taking my power when the thing is trying to start?

I forget, did you say you replaced the coil in one of your previous posts? Because it sounds like you have an intermittent grounding problem via your coil.

The red or + 12v wire to the coil, does it terminate at the starter solenoid? It should be on the small terminal closest to the main + cable from the battery. There should be a splice there that also feeds the electric choke and the carburetor idle solenoid. You should check this entire series of wires, out of the loom, for cracks, potential shorts or poor connections. I think any extra resistance on this circuit will have a bad effect on the input voltage to the coil. Also follow the dark green - wire to the connector for the module and confirm it is good as well.

Yep, I have replaced the coil...

I have looked at the wiring harness and it is just baked. All the wires are in bad shape and have many bar repairs. Thanks to the PO

I am sure that so wire is grounding out and taking my voltage away. Now I just have to find it...
