I have a couple questions about razor grills.
1. How do people get the black off without damaging the grill?
2. How do people put new black on there?

By black I mean the paint type stuff on the "teeth" and around the top. I haven't really decided which route I am going to take whether go "naked" on to have the black re-done. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Took the black off with pain thinner or acetone. Putting it back on would take alot of taping!

Paint thinner / acetone will probably work.
Also you may try Marine paint remover. (Try this on a small area first)
If all goes well then apply to the rest of the painted area you which to remove the paint from. Brush it on fairly liberally and let it sit a bit the paint will bubble right up and most will wash right off.(Hose) No paint remover on PLASTIC.
Make sure before you go after repaint that you cleaned the surfaces really good and use some mineral spirits and insure the surfaces are clean of any oil, old waxes and paint remover before applying new paint.
Then taping and getting a good straight line will be important and use an exacto blade where necessary to trim some of the tape on the curved sections. Try to use as little number or pieces of tape as possible, this provides a much straighter line than a bunch of small runs of the tape. Also use newspaper or some such discard able for the overspray areas. Take your time and it will look great. Best of luck
