I just bought a 76 Wagoneer with 35's for $1500 ($##@**@!^#) and it has a manual choke. Do any of yall have manual choke? What are the advantages/disadvantages/usual problems? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks. -Zach

Howdy and Welcome Big Bad....I have made my choke manual. It's maby alittle tricky to learn to use it but once you got it down it lets YOU do what you want to do. If it don't do right.....it's opperator error. The choke also sets the idle speed. You can use it as a low speed cruise control or fast idle. Trick is to open the throttle alittle before you pull on the choke cable. After pulling the cable, release foot feed then push cable back in.....If it's set up correctly you'll be at fast idle. Old cars also had throttle cables and manual spark advance. Soon we won't even have to drive our cars the computer will do it for us  Most new cars you CAN NOT run the defroster without the A/C coming on  ....oh well...... ;) ......ds..

I got one on my Holley too. I like it and its not that tough to learn. I'm sure you will too. I just put mine on full choke when its cold then gradually bring it to full open as it warms up.
