81 Cherokee w/t going to install 3" lift, what tire size would work best. Running 15 x 8 alum slots. All original don't want to cut up. Also any idea where to get the rear vent window hinges, screw stripped out on one that goes through glass.

You're going to want 33" tires with a 3" lift. If you want to go 35" then you'll need a 6" lift.

33 x 12.50 on 8" rims will be chubby.
IE bulging sidewalls.
so can't got taller unless skinner tire.

I have an '82 Cherokee WT that the PO put 31X10.5X15 tires on, they clear with plenty of space. I'm thinking of going to 33's and it looks like I can clear a 33X10.5X15 but might run into problems with a 33X12.5X15.
BFG is the only company that offers 33X10.5X15 that I've found. Has anyone tried this combination?

I have nice clean WT flares with no rust, I sure don't want to cut them off! :)

I ran 32x11.50x15 Super Swamper TSL/SX's on 15x8 rims on my N/T Cherokee w/ a 4" lift. Had no clearance issues at all, even after the springs settled a bit. I'm willing to bet 33's on a W/T wouldn't be a big deal with 3" of lift, of course, you could always go with a 4" lift and they would definately clear.

Try looking for tires in this size ... 265/85 R15
265 gives you a tread width of like 10.43
85 aspect ratio gives an overall diameter just shy of 33"

Thanks for the idea, but none of the companies on TireRack make an 85 series profile tire. And a 75 profile only gives a 31" tire. (30.6 actually)

Go with a 33 X 10.50 X 15 ( BF also make a 9.50)
Not many tire companies make the size.
Interco LTB
BFG All-terrain and Mud T/A
Trans auto/manual and gearing can sometimes make this decision for you.

BFG used to make AT and MT in a 33"x9.50" R15.

If there is a pic, I can't see it at work.
I put a 285/75/16 (33x11 or so) on a non-lifted w/t with no issues.

I'm looking for something I can put on the stock 15" wheels. BFG makes their tires in a 33X10.5X15.
I've got 31X10.5X15s on there now, going an 2" taller without getting wider should fit fine.
Everyone else's 33" tire is 12.5" wide, I think going 2" wider as well as 2" taller I will run into rubbing problems.

I've got 265/75/16's on my J10 with a 3 inch lift, there is some room but they look good to me.

you will be fine with 33x12.50's even on stock 8" wide rims. i ran mine stock with no problems except hard articulation and turning at the same time. combo looked better with 2-2.5" springs:
stock with 33's:

2-2.5" lift with 33's:
