Saw this on Ebay. Just up the road a few miles from me if anyone is interested. I'm just curious where he saw the Cherokees he described.

I'm guessing the two he's talking about would be the blue "wayne newton" 401 and that really nice gray one. I think those two are in a different league all together. However, this one has the "rare diamond in the rough" fender flares constructed of two inch thick bondo.

This is a v8 engine for one thing. The whole text is in CAPS letter.

I would wait patiently for a better rig. A truck is not worth that much being primered.

 +1.

A $500 truck with a $1000 reserve. I'd guess some used car dealer took it in trade, and is reluctant to put it on the lot.

Man, that thing is *nasty*. I think even $500 is too much. I might offer $200 for a parts car. As bad as it looks, I have to question what shape the mechanicals are in.

Oh well, the world is full of dreamers.........

For those who are interested, I emailed him just out of pure curiousity and asked a reserve based question. Here ya go-

"I have the reserve for this jeep set under $4,500 dollars. This truck has absolutely no rust in it besides in the fender flares, and i have noticed that there have been a few of these jeeps selling on ebay for between 9 and 10 thousand, and i feel like mine should be worth what I am asking considering it only needs a paint job and some minor inexpensive things. Thanks for looking if you have any more questions, feel free to contact me again.

ok this goes back to my ideal of a federal law saying you must have a minimum iq to own a jeep

Well, at least now I know what mine would look like with the white wagon wheels and Mud King MTs on it that I have sitting in the garage.

He must not have looked at the floor boards to make that statement. As rusted as the flares are the floors are most likely gone. Maybe thats why he says there is no rust any where else, it all fell off. :(

This guy on crack?! That one needs more work than he thinks! Maybe I'll throw mine on ebay and say something of the like and see if it will sell for $5G's ! Yeah right!

obviously this guy has never tried to do any of those "minor inexpensive things"................

$4,500? Man, crack can make you do amazing things!

Hey Chrome, I am sure he saw Chromeanator cruising around before you sold it and in his mind that cherokee is not too far away from being as nice.

Sort of like that old adage that all guys honestly believe they are only a few sit-ups away from looking like Tony Atlas or Arnold.

LMAO! I have a funny feeling that $4,500 reserve will be lowered before end of auction.

Thanks Chrome,

I needed a good laugh,

Well, we all went past the chicken house, through the hog pen, down to the tractor shed, and then wound up in back of the barn in a field of cowpies. and settin right there in a pool of grease
Half-ton Jeep truck with a 1980 license plate, a bumper sticker says vote for Ron and brillo box full of rusty parts, and bob says whaddya think? .

Well, I kicked the tires and I got in the seat and set on a petrified apple core and found a bunch of field mice livin in the glove compartment. he says, her shaft is bent and her rear end
leaKs, you can fix her quick with an oily rag. use a nail as a starter; I lost the key. dont pay no mind to that whirrin sound. she use a little oil, but outside a that, shes CHERRY.

It would cost $9,000 to make that thing worth his under $4,500 reserve. Guarantee that there is more rust than that hiding on it.

I always see old rust buckets at the swap meets that are bathed in primer, right over all of the rot. I guess the people think it makes them look in better condition where in this case, clearly not.

what is it with lunatics buying the raggediest old jeep they can find for cheap then throwing a few extra zeros on the end trying to sell it for an insane profit margin. isnt that what caused the insane houseing prices in california? lol
