I just bought a 1983 J-10 with a amc 258 and it has a 1 barrel carter carb on it. I want to put a Motorcraft 2100 on it would i have to switch the manifold on it to do this. Thanks for any answers

Yes, you would have to change the manifold. Should be easy to find. John

Would the manifold for the 2 barrel go on pretty easy and about what is the average price.

if you can get the intake and exhaust manifold as a set i would to that. there is a place where the egr valve goes between them . i dont know for sure if a 2bbl intake will work with a 1 bbl exhaust manifold in this regard.maybe someone here does. also the factory 2bbl intake is est up for a carter bbd.you will need an adaptor to run a 2100.goes on pretty easy,if you can figure out which end of the wrench to hold onto you should be able to do it.

It's possible to get a 2V square pattern (Holley pattern) adapter for a 1V manifold, but the 2V manifold is better.
As Yankeedog wrote, if you get the 81-on aluminum 2V manifold, get the pair of manifolds.
There are 2 styles of 2V 258 intake manifolds - cast iron (early) and aluminum (later).
The early intake was used on a '77 or later 258 FSJ, and this will bolt to your existing exhaust manifold. I think they started to use this 2V iron manifold on CJ in '79 or '80 too. But! I would suggest you get the better later (81-on) manifolds. The later (81-on) exhaust manifold is much smoother.
The 2V manifolds will bolt right on in place of your existing 1V manifolds. The exhaust will line right up. You may have to notch the PS bracket slightly to clear the '81-on exhaust manifold (I did). Be sure to get the accelerator linkage that bolts to the manifold - makes your carb swap much easier. You'll also want a new accelerator cable from a '81-on 258 FSJ.
Price? Hmm. Mine were free, plus a donation to the board that I advertised on. Advertise for WTB on your local 4x4/Jeep boards.
