NP435 shifter thread

I'm getting an aftermarket shift ball for my Ford NP435 4 speed. Does anyone know what size thread is on the stick? I don't have the tranny here or I would just go out and check it myself. Thanks

It's fine thread and the overall OD of the threads on the shaft is 5/16, but I'm not sure that translates directly to bolt size.
