What is the average people are getting for MPG with the V8 360? I need a baseline to get mine on track. I am running right around 12 MPG, how bad is that?

That does not sound too bad, especially this time of year with the cold and snow and such.

I would say that is good. Some get better, some get worse. Do a search for mpg, there are a lot of threads, and polls, on this topic. :)

If you have to ask. You can't afford it.

I was just trying to gauge before I started replacing filters and such to see if there is truly an improvement

I drive about 200 miles per week (mostly highway) and average about 10 MPG.
My Specs are 82 sportside-360v8-4.10 gears-35" tires:thumbsup:

I'm running about 10-12 mpg city (depends on how heavy my foot is) and 14 mpg on the highway. This is with a recent full tune-up, running 33's and 4.10 gears. Not bad I guess.

I get about 10-11 city, 12 on highway. 177k miles original engine. Rebuilt carb, tune up, and some reduction in the vacuum mess.

Haha, nice reference. We're talking about FSJ's, not HJ's and ZJ's...hahaha.

Depends, short trips, in the city with it being cold, that is great, warmed up highway driving that is pi$$ poor. So it all depends.

When my 88 360 was only about 10 years old, it got around 12-13 in town and a little over 15 on the open highway if I run the speed limit or below. I thought that was pretty decent.
9.7.
Yes, 9.7.
I bought the thing about 300 miles ago, and I do not even know what it is I do not know. :)
There are plugged vacuum lines everywhere. No air cleaner intake hose. It is emissions exempt, and the PO(s) did some interesting things here and there.
YMMV.

You have a little work to do. You should be getting 13-15.
