So I just got a new radiator and everything seemed to be going fine until I went to hook up the tranny cooler. The fittings in the radiator were different sizes than the old one. Do I need this hooked up, or is the aux. cooler on the front of the radiator enough? Thanks fellas.

Like talntar said you have to get adaptor fittings.I had to when i put my new rad in.And an aux trans cooler is good to have too.

I had to buy adapters this weekend my self. I swapped in what seemed to be an older style radiator with 1/8" Pipe thread fittings at the cooler. The old radiator had like 3/8" or something, I don't remember which connection style, flare I think. I now have a mix of pipe threads, npt, flared fitting, and air hose barb fitting runnning all my stuff. I like to cause conflict and increase the number of possible fitting that could leak. Bring the old hoses with you and the radiator if possible. Napa is always good to me about putting sets of adapters together.
You can run with just the auxillary cooler, but most tranny guys and the aux cooler manufacturer says keep the rad. cooler in the loop.
What kind of auxillary cooler is there? Did you just add it?
Good luck.

The aux cooler is just a small thin radiator lookin thing that has been on the truck since I've had it. It goes on the front of the radiator. This time I just attached it with a special type of zip tie. I guess I'll be looking for some adapters today. Thanks guys.
