Is this a narrow track cherokee and if so does it have the same restrictions on max tire size with a 6" lift as a wagoneer? Was looking for a cherokee project that would allow me to run 35" tires without body lift etc, just the suspension lift.

Thanks

That is an NT, but would make a great wheeler for the price. Looks like it has a 2-4" lift already. Sawzall it and stuff some 33's in there :D

the fun thing about n/t 2 door cherokees is that you can cut alot of that exterior body and mount pretty big tires, and you dont have to worry about the w/t guys getting mad cause you cut off the fender flares.

Ah-ha that's what I wanted to know! So if I moved my 6" lift from my wagoneer and did some chopping, I'd easily look at getting some 35's in there, maybe bigger?

I'd be all over that like white on rice.

Trying to get a hold of the guy. Any idea what would be standard in that one? D44 axles, NP208 TC? Trying to find out by searching but not getting anywhere.

Yep, dana 44 front, AMC M23 rear, & 208 x-fer. If it is an auto it is a 727.
That is a steal.

AMC M23 - how different is that from the AMC 20?

Talked to the guy. The floor is pretty rusty under the seats both front and rear. Says it's not running the greatest and he's not mechanically inclined, just looking to get rid of it.

AMC M23 is the same center section as the AMC 20, but has one piece axles. The M23 is in the same ball park as the Dana-44 the M23 is a little tougher in the ring/pinoin area, but axles are a wash, so 35" tire would be pushing (not breaking) the envelope, take it easy and you should be fine, beat and it will break.

I started with a Narrow Track Cherokee and wanted 35's also. I went with Spring Over Axle/Shackle Flip and it worked pretty dang well. Smoother ride in my opinion (compared to lift springs place Spring Under) but requires fab skills and more work than a bolt on 6" kit. Just my opinion but uncut narrow track bodies look awesome on 35's or bigger. Mine rusted out around the rear quarters and looks a little funny.
