Sorry it's not FSJ related, but someone here has got to know how to R&R the oil filter adapter on a 4.0L, 1993 Grand Cherokee. Neither Haynes nor Chilton even mention the part, and Chrysler was only able to sell me the O-ring (well, it's one of these 3) but not show how to remove it. There don't appear to be any obvious fasteners visible so I'm a bit confused.
It's my wife's car, and she's distraught that her car is actually leaking more than mine.
As usual, any help is greatly appreciated.
Kerry

turtlejoe, i think it is a torx. There isn't room to fit the socket and wrench so i had to use visegrips around the torx. It just takes time. little turn at a time. It is pretty straight forward. 2 seals on the bolt and the other for the housing to the block.

I found this article. Maybe it will help.

OK, that is the home page. Go to the engine tech and there is an article about changing that adapter.

Wow, once again I'm amazed at the collective knowledge on this board. HeyDave, thanks for the link and information. I'll take a peak and pick up the Torx tomorrow.
Thanks again ...
