I am swapping in a 305/4l60E/NP241C.
I got a 241 from the salvage yard and put in a JB Conversions Slip Yoke Eliminator. Now that it's bolted back up, with no driveshafts, I notice that the front yoke turns in 2Hi. You can grab it and stop it, but there is resistance, it feels "stiff."
The question is, is that normal? Or did I fudge the case reassembly and the front yoke should be totally slack in 2Hi? Thanks...

The front yoke should spin easily in 2wd. If I remember correctly, the JB kit replaces the main shaft, maybe the bearings supporting chain gear are tight (IOW the new shaft is a bit oversized)?

That and cold fluid can be a bit thicker, and can cause it to spin. If you can stop it with your hand, I would not worry about.
I can do the same thing with my NP205 I have setting here on the bench. I have it in two wheel drive, and if I turn the input, both outputs turn. I can take and hold the front output still with my hand.
