Is there an easier and less complicated way to get some lift without doing SOA?

Yes....buy a lift system (with new rear springs). However it is not cheaper. :(

yea i meant to put easier and cheap.....i guess no such thing exists. Thanks for the input, I am kinda dumb when it comes to working with suspension stuff.

 easy? less complicated?
what could possibly be less complicated?
my advice, save your pennies, do it right the first time and don't look back. if you're trying to get 6" of lift for $50 you're going to end up with ghetto fab that will get someone killed.

in the end SOA done correctly will cost as much or more than lift springs, but it will ride softer and flex better.

it's just a matter of preference... I don't know how I lived without my SOA. :D

I considered SOA until I thought about the 30 year old springs, bushings and u bolts holding it all together.

Seems to be a wiser investment to buy Rusty's 6" lift at a minimum.

when I did my soa I replaced all the ubolts and bolts, I'm sure I could have changed bushings, but I wasn't too concerned, and my 30 year old springs, which are actually 30 years old this year are still holding up fine, and are a lot cheaper to replace than Rusty's 6" springs in the event of a bent or broken spring. Spares are easy to find too. just my experience and $.02.

yeah I seconding tucks opinion... after getting all my stuff done, for SOA, it is going to probably cost me just about the same as if I just did the Lift springs... but I gained way more flex... and a better ride... problems I have faced... can't use factory front stabilizer... you can't just buy longer tie rods for sway bar you have to figure out some thing completely new, have problems getting shocks to skwish in there with out getting new mounts and loosing travel...
I don't have a welder so I can't just put on new Tabs, brackets and such..but if you do a lot of things could come a lot easier to you then they did for me...

if you want big lift your going to spend some decent bucks solving other problems other then just the suspension aspect of it.... Driveshafts, brakes, E and normal, steering and various other things.. but those things come in both springs and SOA lifts...

Good luck with your decsion!

I say decide what your rig is going to be used for primaraly and what sized tire you want to run.
