I have the saggy wag syndrom pretty bad. As the 88Wag is going to be my wife's daily driver, I would like to replace the stock springs with orginal ride height and compression rate springs. Has any one bought replacement springs from any one other than the dealer. Most local spring shops will say they can make anything, but I am looking for some one that knows what their doing to give me that new wagoneer ride back.

Look at www.espo.com, (http://www.espo.com,) they offer stock height springs, at decent prices, and will give a 1 or 2" lift for a minimal charge. They also offer poly bushings, as well. Another source for stock height springs is JC Whitney, believe it or not. Price is about $100 each for those.

If you just want to reduce the sag for looks and keep the stock ride. You could put in a 2" block. With new U-bolts this would probably cost you about 50 bucks. I know that blocks are not the lift of choice here, but it's just another idea.

Waggin'ear thanks for the idea. But I am trying to regain the stock height and ride my jeep had when it rolled of the assembly line. My warnout springs do not isolate the road bumps anymore.

Has anyone used the JcWhitney or ESPO springs to comment on their quality. If you get cheap springs without the proper spring rates, you get the stock height back but a lowsey ride. I would purchase dealer springs but the cost is about $300 per spring.

Any one out their purchased any lately with good results?

Chris: I researched Espo and National and one other company that made the originals last winter. I liked National the best. Ive heard good things about all of them. I didn't go to JCWhit. because I like to talk to the guys who make the products whenever possible. I learn more that way.

Finally, because of money constraints, I just had my springs refreshed here locally. Sometimes a refresh job lasts a long time and sometimes not. Depends on how they are heated before and cooled after they are re-arched.

I just got off the telephone with National Spring. They want $240 per rear spring.

I was hoping that they could beat ESPO's price of $301.62 which includes all bushings and U bolts, and $80  to ship to California.

I guess I'll have to stay with ESPO and pay the shipping.

1-800-PALMERS. That will put you in touch with PalmerSpring, out of Portland Maine. They have been building springs for ages from stage coaches to tractor trailers. Tell them what you have, they will pull up the specs, build your springs to the exact same as what the factory specified, and you're all set. Last business I did with them made me very happy. Best price around, and very good quality. It will probably take them 3 or 4 days to build them though. Good Luck.
