Are any of the small block chevy rods compatible with the amc 401 or 360?

Thanks.

Guy

I am running pushrods from a chevy 350 in my 360.

The ones I am running are about 1/8 of an inch longer and they are much thicker than stock. This was to compensate for the new cam. I had them in the garage from a friend who gave me a 350 engine that is sitting in my back yard.

After I put in the cam I still had some ticking on the valves. I ask around and posted here and found out that the best way to stop the tick on the non-adjustable lifters was to put in a longer pushrod (BobBarry you told me this). It was lucky enough that I had the pushrods in the garage that were slightly larger. No more tick.

I do not know if the pushrods that I put in from the 350 were stock for that engine or not, all I know is that they are longer and thicker than the ones I took out of my Engine. I will try to figure out the part # if at all possible and then let you know what I come up with.

The nice thing about having pushrods in common with the Chevy motor is that slightly longer or shorter ones are readily available for minor adjustment of valvetrain clearances. For stock-length units, though, all the ads and listings for AMC pushrods carry the same Part #'s as the stock 350 Chevy pushrods.

Thanks for all the replies. However, I guess that I should have been more specific. Are any Chevy connecting rods compatible?

Thanks again.
