I am working to figure out how to mount my shocks on my 14 bolt. I made some brackets at work for the axle out of 3/8th steel. I decided to weld them on just a little lower then the axles center line. but that gives me about an inch of up-travel. and I already have the upper shock mounts coming thru the floor a bit, so I obviously need to go higher. but before I really tear up the floor I would like some advice. Like what has been done with shock mounts on other rigs with the 14 bolt?

not a 14b, but what i did for my d44 last year. ended up moving the top mounts up a bit giving me 6 1/2" up and 6 1/2" down at rest,
gonna do my 14b the same way in a few weeks when that goes in

Can you post some pics of your set-up? How much up travel can your suspension handle? How much down travel do you have?
It is common to mount the shocks at an angle in order to maximize a shocks usable range...

I'll get some pics tomorrow. I've seen shocks mounted angled in towards each other, which I cant do with my gas tank the way it is. But I may ending up having to change that too. not sure yet. the way everything is sitting so far looks like I'll have more down travel then up.
well heres a pic that kinda shows it. before everything was welded up. You can see where I gone thru the floor. That piece of metal hangin down with the 2 bolts in it is the front mount of my gas tank.
