I have an 83 Cherokee with a 304 out of a 74 CJ. I'm removing the cast iron manifolds and replacing them with headers.
Question:
Manifold bolts, I've heard they should be sprayed with penatrating oil. How could the oil make its way back to the threads? Do I spray just the bolt heads or where the manifolds meets the block? Could I also hit the bolts with a little heat from a propane torch before loosening them?
PS: I have a 360 Block with a cracked piston, comes with engine stand. It looks rebuildable. I have some other misc parts that could go too. Make Offer or offer some technical help to get my 304 run bettter and it is yours. You pickup
I'm Located in Monroe WA, about 30 Miles north-east of Seattle.
